Purpose of job:

As an Internal Technical Salesperson, you'll use your technical and product application knowledge, along with strong sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products, before and after sales, both locally and internationally. You will be based in the office, and act as a first point of contact with your assigned and new customers. You will interact with and provide support to internal teams involved in the design, manufacturing, servicing, repair, sales & marketing of products.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  •  Work with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. Selection of appropriate products to suit customer needs.
  •  Internal sales and technical activities to achieve the best and most profitable revenue results, and continuously improve the sales performance of the product range. Strive to fulfill CFW's sales targets and growth objectives.
  •  Provide excellent and consistent customer support to satisfy their business needs, thereby building strong relationships and improving long-term sales.
  •  Assist with tenders and the managing of projects for larger orders; both technical and commercial aspects.
  •  Ensure that all CFW commercial terms and company credit extension and payment policies are adhered to.
  •  Diligently perform sales administration duties so that all required information pertaining to customers and sales is captured on a centralized system.
  •  Ensure that all technical detail required for the successful execution of an order is communicated and understood by the Production staff.
  •  Effectively communicate required information to the customer and all others involved in the sales process.
  •  Work to find new sales leads, through business directories, client referrals, etc. May sometimes be required to do "cold calling" for new clients, or follow-up calls for previous clients.

Competency Requirements:

  •  Technical Qualification mechanical or light electrical
  •  Computer literacy essential
  •  Excellent communication skills
  •  Customer service skills
  •  Multilingual
  •  Previous sales and marketing experience beneficial
  •  Industrial fan experience beneficial

Key tasks:

Technical:    

  •  Product selections using available tools.
  •  Continuous training & self-development with respect to product knowledge & applications.
  •  Keep up to date with developments in the company and market.

Administration:

  •  Capturing of customer info and sales quotes & orders on the system.
  •  Keeping sales records updated on the system e.g. daily voiding of any cancelled / invalid orders, correct customer addresses & contact info.

Customer interaction:

  •  Interact with and develop relationships with clients.
  •  Ensure clients are treated professionally.
  •  Provide technical and commercial support to the customer in relation to the products.
  •  Dealing with customers telephonically and arranging for site visits where necessary.
  •  Provide customers with product information and training.
  •  Seek customer feedback in order to improve sales skills and enhance the sales process. Also perform routine sales follow-ups.

Quotations:  

  •  Preparation and submission of quotes for products & services to the customer that will meet their technical specifications and CFW's commercial requirements.

Orders:          

  •  Review & accept orders against CFW's commercial requirements and the products technical specifications.
  •  Order confirmation with customer, finalizing details and delivery dates.
  •  Keep in constant contact with the customer regarding their orders.
  •  Communicate progress of orders to the relevant internal staff and customers at regular intervals.

Reporting and training:

  •  Partaking and participating in weekly meetings.
  •  Attending and participating in ongoing training.
  •  Preparation and submission of client report to Sales Manager on a weekly basis, including market feedback on product competitiveness.
  •  Provide timely feedback to Sales Manager on stock levels that are inaccurate or insufficient to meet projected customer demand.
  •  Meeting and achieving mutually pre-agreed targets and goals (Key Performance Areas)
